THE STORY BEHIND POLYTOUGH™ CONSTRUCTION
We take a great deal of pride in the construction of each and every product here at the MTECH facility in Northern California. From the raw plastic sheet stock, to the top-shelf components and careful fabrication used to create each system, we’re dedicated to bringing our customers a product that will perform for years to come.
THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND POLYTOUGH CONSTRUCTION
PolyTough™ refers to MTECH’s build process—from raw material selection to the finished product. It encompasses design techniques, material selection, build and quality assurance processes. MTECH, Inc., has gained a reputation for building plastic-fabricated fire service tanks and truck bodies, as well as pest control and agricultural spraying systems, that look great and never fail. We’ve built our business on repeat customers who value quality and the care with which each product is built.
Our goal is that when a product leaves our facility, we don’t ever want to see it again unless it’s in a testimonial email from our customer. When your tank or pumping system fails, you lose money. Or, in the case of a fire service vehicle, you could lose much, much more. We build every product so that it is able to withstand the demands of difficult, year-around outdoor use. That’s why, ever since the first fire truck tank that left our facility, we have never had a warranty claim.
MATERIAL
Copolymer polypropylene is a blend of ethylene and propylene that is extremely durable, light weight and resistant to extreme temperatures. It is nearly impossible to dent or crack, meaning your system
will give you years of trouble-free service. Unlike the thin, translucent, molded tanks found on most commercial sprayers, MTECH’s baffled tanks (except in small pest control form) are formed and welded from heat-resistant UV-stabilized material. You can take a hammer claw to our products and it will barely leave a mark.
THE BUILD
Each product begins as 3D computer model, where all the components are fitted virtually before ever becoming a reality on the shop floor. Once designed, it’s cut to exact tolerances on a Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machining center. From there, the tanks and spray systems are fabricated by our skilled technicians, using proven plastic welding technology. Our tanks aren’t molded—they are several pieces of plastic welded together, forming an incredibly strong—yet lightweight—product.
After the fabrication is complete, complete spray systems move into assembly, where the pump, fittings and graphics are mounted and applied before final Quality Assurance testing. Every MTECH product is assembled using top-shelf components—composite plastic and brass fittings (no PVC). After extensive QA testing, the product is carefully packaged for shipment, so it can arrive ready for years of trouble-free service.WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OUR CUSTOMERS?
We realize that our customers are under heavy demands to perform, and that their equipment must meet or exceed their expectations. MTECH’s PolyTough™ products are the result of years of development and testing, customer feedback and prototyping. We’ve distilled our experience with pumps, nozzles, tank construction and component testing into the most durable tanks and spray systems available.
We’ve done the homework so you don’t have to, and we’re confident you’ll be pleased with your MTECH product.
